Celebrated nationally on the first Friday in October, MFG Day is manufacturing’s biggest annual opportunity to inspire the next generation, positively shift perceptions about the industry, and build the foundation for the manufacturing workforce of the future.

In collaboration with Chattanooga Regional Manufacturers Association, CEC will provide an information session on resources available to manufacturers.

Southeast Development District provide convenient, accessible workforce services to job seekers as well as business and industry. Along with a business-led workforce Investment Board, setd operate and staff Career Centers in the SET region. Michele Holt, Executive Director of the Workforce Development Board, will speak on the funding and services provided.

The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS) delivers technical assistance and training to businesses and communities throughout Tennessee.  Since its creation in 1963, UT CIS has grown its staff of professional employees located in six offices across the state. UT CIS is an agency of the UT Institute of Public Service. Paul Middlebrooks, APEX Accelerator Manager and George Aslinger will speak on UTCIS services and explain APEX and its work supporting Department of Defense.

Smart Factory Institute operated by Peak Performance is one provider that have helped companies navigate the training resource available.  Josh Summers, Director of Business Development and John Bingham, Director of Sales and Marketing with Arch Plastics, will speak on a recent training project.
