Chattanooga Green Prix

Speaker: Dawn Hjelseth, Director of Development

Green Spaces Chattanooga

Ms. Hjelseth will be presenting the Chattanooga Green Prix Program and Event scheduled for Saturday, March 24th at Chattanooga State Community College from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  Over the past school year, 8 local schools have been designing, building and testing electric power race cars! Teams will be represented from Nolan Elementary, Woodmore Elementary, East Lake Academy, Dalewood Middle, Howard High School, CGLA, CSLA and Stem School.  The cars are based on chassis and power trains from Green Power USA, which were purchased and supplied to each schools team.  The each team is responsible for kit assembly, aerodynamic  body design, utilization of recycled materials in manufacture and of coarse having the winning design and performance.

The presentation will include how the program came to fruition, how the schools were chosen, the goals and objectives of the program and the opportunity for community support of the event!

This is an exciting program that will promote science, technology and engineering in the lives of these students, some of which might be future members of the Chattanooga Engineering Club!

Members may Register for this event to receive 1.0 PDH after they attend.
